If there is one container size that handles the widest variety of projects, it is the 20 yard. It holds roughly six pickup truck loads of debris, which covers most major home renovations, large cleanouts, and many light commercial jobs across Cedar Mill, OR. It is the size we recommend most often when a customer is not sure what they need.
The 20 yard strikes a balance between capacity and placement. It is long enough to hold serious volume, yet it still fits on the majority of driveways, making it practical for residential neighborhoods as well as job sites.
Dimensions and loading
A typical 20 yard roll-off measures about 22 feet long, 8 feet wide, and roughly 4.5 feet high, though sizes vary slightly between units. The walls remain low enough to load by hand, while the length accommodates bulky items such as sofas, cabinets, and long pieces of lumber.
Common projects include flooring replacement for a whole home, large kitchen and bath combinations, garage and attic cleanouts together, roofing jobs on average sized homes, and deck removals. Contractors also use the 20 yard as a dependable container for remodels that stretch over several weeks.
What usually goes in
Why it remains the most popular choice
The main advantage is margin. Many projects grow as they progress. Once walls are opened, homeowners often decide to replace more than originally planned. A 20 yard absorbs that growth without forcing an emergency second haul, which saves money and keeps your schedule intact.
For properties in Cedar Mill, OR with space limitations, measure your driveway or placement area before booking. The container needs room for its full length plus clearance for the truck to approach and set it down. Our team will walk through placement with you by phone so the delivery goes smoothly.
We replaced every floor in the house and cleared the garage at the same time. The 20 yard handled it all, and placement was perfect.
